Congratulations to Callie Lawton for finishing in the top 10 at the 4A State Golf Championship held this past Monday and Tuesday at Hilton Head. Callie was named All State.

Congratulations to our Girls Volleyball team for advancing to the 3rd round of the 4A state playoffs. In the first round they defeated South Pointe in straight sets 3-0. In round 2, they defeated Dreher High School in a 5 set thriller 3-2 and will now travel to Wren to face the Hurricanes on Wednesday Oct 29 at 6pm.

Cross Country brings home 1st place!
Congratulations to all our athletes on their performances on Saturday at the Starlight Invitational Cross Country Meet. The Cougar Girls Cross Country team placed 1st in the Warrior Division Race. The girls team consists of Jayden Bennett, Gio Bonilla, Amiracle Adams, Gabriella Albert, Kimberly Galvan Fabian, Mackayla Thomasson, and Ava Shook. Ava Shook had an overall first place finish in the Girls Warrior Division and Ellis Spencer placed 9th in the Boys Warrior Division. Eighth grader Jayden Garrison ran a big PR of (19:26.21) and Senior Gioneilys Bonilla ran a big PR of (23:46.57).

Congratulations to our Cougar Volleyball Team for being the 2025 Region 3-4A Champions! Please come out and support our girls for Senior Night this Thursday as they take on Broome in their final regular season home match. JV will start at 5:30pm with Varsity following.

Back on October 4th our Volleyball team won the Greenwood Eagle Volleyball Classic defeating North Augusta, Rock Hill, Greenwood, and Palmetto High Schools. Congratulations to our Girls!

Swim teams see success at State Meet!
Our swim teams competed at the 4A State Swim Finals this past weekend and represented York in the highest way. Below are some results from our teams. We are so proud of them! Cross Country Home meet a success
Congratulations to the Cougars Girls and Boys Cross Country teams for their performances at their home meet on Thursday, September 25th. Both teams had an overall 2nd place finish. The girls' team consisted of Jayden Bennett, Amiracle Adams, Kimberly Galvan Fabian, Alexandria Welsh, MacKayla Thomasson, Gio Bonillia, and Gabrielle Albert. The boys' team consisted of Ellis Spencer, Wesley Blackman, Jackon Blackmon, Shelby Saboley, Quinn Witte, Jayden Garrison, Jackson LeFevre, and Daniel Kearney. There were several top performances at the meet. The boy's results are as follows. Junior, Ellis Spencer had an overall 1st-place finish. Ellis ran a season best with a time of 16 minutes and 37 seconds. 8th grader Jayden Garrison ran a personal record with a time of 20 minutes and 57 seconds. 7th grader Quinn Witte ran a personal record with a time of 21 minutes and 11 seconds. Thursday night our varsity football team picked up its first region win over Dreher at Memorial Stadium in Columbia. Next up for the Cougars is a match up home v AC Flora next Friday Sept 26.

Volleyball moves to 6-0 in region
Congratulations to our Volleyball team for picking up another region win Thursday night at Dreher in 5 sets. This puts our Cougars at the region top spot heading into the second round of playing region opponents. Next up for the team is a home match v Northwestern this Monday with JV beginning at 5:30pm.

Swim with another good performance
Once again our swimmers continue to impress. we had multiple repeat state consideration times. We did have 1 new state consideration time. JD Wiebe - 100 Free - new state consideration time We also had 16 personal records yesterday. This weeks honorable mention is going to JD Wiebe. Over the Season he has dropped a considerable amount of time and just alone yesterday dropped 3 seconds in the 100 free and 4 seconds in the 200 free. GREAT JOB JD!!

Fall Football Practice Begins
Boys Varsity FootballJV & Varsity Fall Football practice will begin Thursday, July 31 at 6 pm. Practice will continue Friday, August 1 at 6 pm, and Saturday, August 2 at 8 am. There will be no practice Sunday, August 3. Practice will resume Monday, August 4 - Friday, August 8 at 7 am and again on Saturday, August 9 at 8 am. There will be no practice Sunday, August 10. Morning practices resume Monday, August 11.

Boys Soccer Preseason Workouts/Tryouts
Boys Varsity SoccerAll boys interested in trying out for soccer this year must have a current sports physical uploaded to BigTeams before they can step foot on the field. Physical forms and instructions on how to upload all necessary documentation can be found outside the YCHS Athletic Director's door in between the main gym and auxiliary gym.All communication during the season will be done via “Remind”. To sign up to receive messages, text @yorkfc to the number 81010. Preseason workouts for boys in grades 9-12 will be held at the high school stadium beginning immediately after school and running until 5pm on the following dates:1/13, 1/14, 1/16, 1/21, 1/23, 1/24, 1/27, 1/28Tryouts for all boys in grades 7-12 will be held at the high school stadium on Monday, February 3rd through Friday, February 7th from 4:00pm-6:15pm.Any questions regarding the upcoming season can be directed to Coach Johnson at rjohnson@york.k12.sc.us

Golf Ball Drop 2024
Boys Varsity FootballThe York Touchdown Club is again sponsoring a golf ball drop at halftime of the first home football game vs. Nation Ford on August 30. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased from any football coach or Touchdown Club member. Only 500 tickets will be sold. You do not have to be present to win. Prizes are as follows: 1st=$1000, 2nd=$750, 3rd=$500, & 4th=$250.

CoEd Varsity TrackOpen season Track and Field practice will begin on January 9th-24th. Practice will be held at the YCHS track from 4:00pm-5:30pm. This is for all events: Throwing, Running, and Jumps. You must have an updated physical to participate. Physicals will need to be uploaded to Planet High School. Mandatory practice will begin on January 29th for athletes not participating in a Winter sport. Please contact Coach McFadden at amcfadden@york.k12.sc.us with your questions. CoEd Varsity Cross CountryWhat an awesome day at the Trojan Invitational on Saturday, September 9th. Please congratulate the following XC athletes. Every athlete met their time goal for the meet or ran a PR. I’m extremely proud of the team for their continued growth and commitment. We will continue to get better. The Varsity girls finished 5th out of 14 teams. Varsity Runners: Ava Shook, Colette Dismukes, Jayden Bennett, Ellie Dismukes, and Joyelle Graves. Ava Shook finished 8th overall. The JV girls finished 7th out of 13 teams. JV Runners: Gabriella Albert, Nadine Capita, Nora Summerville, Jassmin Torres, and Alexandria Welsh. The Varsity boys finished 12th out of 18 teams. Varsity Runners: Hollis Hopper, Ellis Spencer, Samuel Haney, Jashad Lytle, and Jackson
