The YCHS Athletic department is pleased to announce that Courtney Furlong has been hired as our new Head Varsity Volleyball Coach.  Courtney played high school volleyball in Florida where she was selected as the Gatorade Player of the Year in 2014. She then attended the University of South Carolina on an athletic scholarship and played volleyball for 4 years as a Gamecock. She graduated with a B.A. Degree in Experimental Psychology.  Coach Furlong started her coaching career as a Graduate Assistant Volleyball coach at Winthrop University while earning a Masters and Specialist Degrees in School Psychology from 2021-2022.  She now serves York School District One as a school psychologist. Coach Furlong served as our York Middle School Head Volleyball Coach in 2021 and as Varsity assistant coach at YCHS last season.  Coach Furlong is also currently serving as Head Coach for the Carolina’s Junior Volleyball Club. We look forward to seeing our volleyball program grow under Coach Furlong’s leadership.
